Why I Emphasize Healing

The following are Pastor Bartow's personal and scriptural reasons why he has emphasized healing so much in his ministry.

"I emphasize healing because I believe with all my heart that the Lord Jesus wants believers to proclaim the Kingdom of God is at hand and to heal the sick in His Name. Please note how often it is recorded in the gospels about the Master's commission unto his followers to heal the sick."

Matthew 10:1 - And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease.

Mark 3:14,15 - And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils.

Mark 6:7-13 - And he called unto him the twelve and began to send them forth to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils.

Mark 16:17,18 - And these signs shall follow them that believe. They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

Luke 9:1 - Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

Luke 10:1,9 - After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face....(to) heal the sick that are therein, and (to) say unto them, the Kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

John 14:12 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

"My very personal question to you is,

"How many times does the Word of God have to state that we should heal in the Name of Jesus, before we start endeavorinig to do so?

"Truly, truly, truly, believers need to hear and to be taught the message of healing for today. This is my calling. it is my vision.

"I invite you to join me in this calling and in the fulfillment of this vision. I want to be faithful unto Him. The verse which has been my guide these  many years if as follows:

The world passeth away and the lust thereof,
but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. I John 2:17
